On 28N, you may park on either side of the road so long as you are not in the street and pulled off on the shoulder of the road. Auntie Scrooge, A BACKWARDS Christmas Carol, Adapted for radio on stage by Anthony E. Palermo, Musical score composed and arranged by Anthony E. Palermo

Irene Carolyn Scrooge, the great, great, great, great grandniece of Ebenezer Scrooge, is a pleasing, friendly, gracious, sympathizing, obliging, courteous, good-natured woman. The transformation of old Uncle Ebenezer from curmudgeon to warm, generous, kind-hearted man has followed down through the generations to this beloved community woman, the owner of I.C.Scrooge ice cream factory and dairy farm in a rural town nearby.

On this day, the weather is cold, bleak, and biting. But the cold has little influence on Auntie Scrooge. Her warmth could warm; no wintry weather could chill her. No wind that moooooed- um, blew…was warmer than she.

But wait! Has Christmas become a holiday of greed instead of a season of giving and joy? Auntie Scrooge’s niece and nephew, heir and VP of the business, have profit on their minds instead of holiday spirit. The popular annual Christmas Party and Auntie’s Special Holiday eggnog are deemed too expensive and will cut into the profits. In addition, they don’t fit society’s current trend toward edgy names and cheaper ingredients. Auntie is conflicted and unsure what to do. That night, Auntie Scrooge is visited by a trio of spirits, also tarnished by a materialistic modern society.

Will she become as materialistic as her relatives or stand tall in her convictions? Come join us and find out!

Gem Radio Theatre and Tannery Pond Center present this year’s holiday radio play featuring Anne Buckwheat as Auntie Scrooge, along with a cast of characters including a choir of cows adding “Mooosic” to the fun! Our foley artist will add sound effects live onstage as actors share this fun holiday tale.
