The Duck and The Crane is an eclectic group that explores the Great American Songbook and beyond. All four band members are classically trained musicians that have branched over to the other side, playing jazz, country, pop, Irish music, and whatever else comes their way. They love to share the joy of music with people and give them a memorable experience exploring great songs.

The group came together by their violinist, Tucker Callander. Tucker had played for many years with Dylan Perrillo and Crick Diefendorf on upright bass and guitar/banjo, respectively, in a group called The Hot Club of Saratoga. Tucker had also played regularly with Evan on percussion and vocals in The Silver Arrow Band doing weddings. He loved all their playing and knew it would be wonderful to bring all four of them together. The group started with no set rules of what was or wasn’t allowed to be played. They brought their own styles and experiences. Their shows explore early jazz, early pop and early country and the melting pot of all of them with fun surprises sprinkled all around.

The band's members are also part of some of the most well respected groups in upstate NY: Hot Club of Saratoga, Get Up Jack and The Silver Arrow Band.
