The Lake Placid Sinfonietta is a professional summer chamber orchestra of twenty top orchestral musicians from across the country under the direction of Tony Award winning conductor Stuart Malina. The 20 musicians who comprise the orchestra come from top orchestras across the country with many holding leadership or principal roles in those ensembles. The core of the six week season is a concert series in Lake Placid, held this year at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Free weekly open-air concerts are held in a park in downtown Lake Placid, and the orchestra remains committed to being the “Orchestra of the Adirondacks” by bringing its exciting concerts to other Adirondack communities. This coming summer performances are scheduled in North Creek at the Tannery Pond Center, Tupper Lake at The Wild Center and in Saranac Lake at the Hotel Saranac. Established in 1917 at a private hotel, the Lake Placid Sinfonietta is proud to have been a community supported non-profit for the last 40 years.
