Mark Cartwright

Board of Trustee, Finance Committee, Grants Committee

Member of the Board Since: August 2026 Term Expiration: 6-30-29

Mark and his family have been visiting and living in North Creek for over 20 years. His two children skied at Gore and raced in the NYSEF program, and during college, worked as white water raft guides on the Hudson. Mark’s wife retired from a career as an educator, teaching primarily second grade, and has been teaching cross-country skiing to Johnsburg students, and leading hikes as a guide for the Garnet Hill Lodge.

Mark retired in the fall of 2025 from a career as a commercial banker, and he and his wife have moved permanently to North River. His past non-for-profit work has centered on Health Care, serving on the board of various hospital and health-care systems, as well as being on the board of a land conservancy organization. Mark has also volunteered as a ski patroller, has helped his wife with her various children’s ski programs, and recently has been working with the Shredders program, a children’s mountain biking organization.

Mark has always enjoyed the arts, particularly theater and museums. He believes the arts are a critical component of a thriving community. Since retiring, Mark has joined the board of Hudson Headwater Health Network, as well as working on the Johnsburg Economic Development Committee. The natural beauty and sporting life of the Adirondack’s was the draw that brought Mark to the region, but it is Mark’s desire to immerse himself in the enrichment of the Arts in this community that truly makes this area home.
